Mama Says – A Fresh Restaurant Review

Mama Says is a Japanese and Italian health food fusion style restaurant located in Torrance’s Rolling Hills Plaza. Its unique carrot-themed eatery opened in 2014.
The carrot theme in the establishment shouldn’t scare you away, if you’re not a big fan of carrots, because they offer a wide selection of food. It has a fast-food counter service restaurant to eat-in or take-out and delivery.

Mama Says Enjoy The Freshness

There are many specialties at Mama Says, but the favorites are the wraps and pastas. A server will build your wrap or your salad with their available healthy choices from everything ranging from all kinds of veggies to chopped salmon or chicken. Mama Says also has its own personalized selection of dressings to go with your choice of salad or wraps. The miso and dijon dressing are excellent in custom wraps when I was dining with them, and it always compliments the wrap perfectly.

Another dressing favorite is the apple ginger dressing. The pastas are another specialty of Mama Says. They have gluten-free pasta on request and many excellent vegan dishes. One of my favorite pasta dishes is the spaghetti carbonara. It is always served piping hot with very creamy notes of flavor in each bite. This pasta, along with the prosciutto ham and the ciabatta bread that comes with it is an excellent side to complete your meal. The spaghetti salmon in pink sauce is another excellent pasta dish.

Over the years there have been times where I have been sick and/or needed a pick-me-up, and I always could rely on the Carrot Soup with the excellent ciabatta bread.

Mama Says catering also offers a few different options to choose from if you plan on having an event. From weddings, business meetings, and even birthday parties the options for having your event catered from Mama Says are endless. The pasta catering set gives you two different choices to pick from. Each set includes 5 different menu items. You will get to choose from vegetarian pasta along with Mama’s Pasta Set as well. The each set will include three separate pastas, individual salads to go along with the pasta and the amazing Ciabatta bread. You can expect both of these choices to supply you with enough food to serve 10 to 15 guests.

If you are looking for a healthy and quick takeout or dine in meal, Mama Says is an excellent place to begin. For the holidays, if you have a lot of guests, get some takeout or catering from Mama Says for a nice break from the usual heavy meals at holidays.
